DJ T-Rex: Classic Rewind

Thomas Hawley is a sophomore from Avon, Connecticut with a major in History.

Hawley, aka DJ T-Rex, is the host of Classic Rewind, a classic rock show that includes music from the 50s up until the present. Classic rock music is Hawley’s favorite type of music and has been what he listened to growing up.

“The reason why I made my show focused around classic rock and older music is because it’s actually some of my favorite music to listen to, I’m actually a really big music fan, and I pretty much grew up listening to music,” he said.

Hawley has always had dreams of having his own show and one day wants to have his own radio show or station. Growing up listening to the radio with his father is one of his influences in having his own show as well as influencing his taste in music.

“It’s kind of been like a dream of mine for a long time to have my own radio show where I can play the music that I love, and ever since I can remember I’ve been listening to the radio and especially the classic rock station, I still remember every morning on the drive to school my dad would put on 102.9 the whale,” Hawley said. “I would hope to eventually have my own radio show or station someday, but even if I don’t continue in broadcasting, I feel like it’s still a good experience having my own radio show.”

Classic Rewind runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm.
